Last day in Santa Fe. We got up early and took a drive up the mountain to see the sunrise. The mountains are so beautiful. It was cold going up so we had to drag the jackets out. We got to the top and took a hike at Ski Santa Fe. It was check out time when we made it down the mountain. We grabbed our things and headed to the Plaza for a little shopping before we left.

We stopped at Cadillac Ranch on our way to Santa Fe. It was an intriguing way to see the sunrise. It is ridiculous how much paint is on these cars. This is literally out in the middle of a field. It was a fun stop and a good way to stretch the legs...even if we had only been in the truck 10 minutes!
Our original plan was to go to Amarillo for Michael's birthday. We booked a room and then decided we might as well go 4.5 more hours and explore Santa Fe, NM. While in Amarillo we ate at Tacos Garcia and Red Robin. We also explored the flea market to find our favorite stop is no longer there. The mall had a neat rc airplane exhibit we took a gander at. We were both tired from working all night and then beginning our mini vacation, so a nice soft bed was welcomed at Baymont Inn.
We came home from New Mexico today. While watering the trees I found some beauties to take pictures of. Mom and Dad came to town today, so we got to eat dinner with them at Cotton Patch. Our plate came and the Chicken Fried Chicken was shaped like a heart. Aw!!
We headed out to New Mexico Sunday afternoon to visit friends and family and watch the eclipse. The eclipse is starting. It's super bright! Chad got the welding helmet out to look at the eclipse. Look at that. Is'nt that awesome! Amazing view. We are finally able to see it without the welding helmet. My favorite. It went down extremely fast from this point on. And here are some shots from the rest of the evening...
This is for my Mom! She was in town a few weeks ago and I came up with this great idea to get rid of our weeds. She reminded me about it and gave me the extra little push to go ahead and do it... :-) So, here's your Saturday smile!!
The sunrise was amazing this morning! I quickly knew it was going to be a great day for a few pictures before bed. I'm pretty sure my neighbors THINK I'm crazy. I was laying on the ground getting pictures of our weeds this morning. My hubby opened the door and acted as if this was no shock at all!!
I woke up way too early considering I work all night....but the sunshine is what I needed. I painted my toes green and purple and life is good! My purple petunia is in bloom! The best thing about no grass growing in your yard you ask...wildflowers!
