The rest of our day was spent inside. M was at work all day and got home late. I'm so ready to start assembling Noah's birthday swing set!

Noah turned 1 year old on September 4 at 3:33 pm. We got him up and gave him his birthday present, a small train. To our surprise, he loved the little people that came with it more than the train! He banged them together and clapped! He also got a blue jean jacket for his birthday. I think Mommy and Daddy are more excited about that than baby is! He wore it to please us as he continued playing. The year has gone by so fast!!! It's such a joy being a Mommy to this precious little boy. I remember bringing him home from the hospital and the uncertainty of being a new Mom... clueless and scared to death. That sweet face reassured me that I was doing just fine. Happy Birthday precious little Noah!! Mommy and Daddy love you so very much!! It snowed! How convenient, it's time for Noah's 5 month pictures! He wasn't nearly as excited about the snow as I was! And Mommy and Daddy got a few since baby wasn't impressed with the snow! At 5 months old we introduced cereal into his diet once a day. We have now started giving him some fruits and veggies. He loves bananas, apples, and pears but carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes were a NO! He isn't liking his Bumboo as much as I hoped. I think it's time for a highchair, but where to put it?!
We are still using cloth diapers and had to strip them for the first time... Lots of rinsing to get rid of detergent build up etc so they smell better and absorb again. It worked! We are finding that we prefer prefolds with a cover. I'm loving the Grovia hybrid shell with a bamboo prefold. Noah is batting at things and likes to talk and blow spit bubbles! He has started to turn over and we had our first fall or shall we say roll off the couch. Now that he is moving around so much we are going to have to find room for a pallet on the floor to play in our small house! Noah is sleeping in his crib now!!! He goes to bed by 8 and is usually awake at 7 when Daddy gets home from work in the morning. I get him up once to nurse during the night and he usually goes back to sleep pretty quick. It was a rough road at first, but I think he's on a schedule now and Mommy gets a lot more rest! He is growing way too fast, but I'm still doing the 365 project so I catch his growth in pictures each day that will last a lifetime! We are loving our baby boy and soaking it in every minute we can! He wasn't very excited about the cooler weather and wind in his face, but we got a few 4 month pictures!
Noah is 3.5 months old for his 1st Christmas. He is laughing and "talking" or more like blabbering now. I'm not sure, but he may have some teeth coming in. He has been chewing on his hands nonstop and slobbering oh so much! We did some DIY Christmas handprint ornaments for the Grandparents. They turned out so good! It was a challenge getting an infant's hand in the dough. For the last of the dough we tried his foot. This was much easier! By the end of it Noah was fast asleep in my arms. We tuckered him out! We now have a handprint and a footprint as memories of Noah's 1st Christmas to have on our tree each year. I really don't want to take the tree down. I love Christmas decorations! I took another starburst effect picture of our tree this year. Our poor tree lost a strand of lights I guess we will be retiring it now. We didn't get to take part in our holiday tradition of going to the Post Christmas Parade. The weather caused it to be canceled along with the Miracle on 34th Street Parade. It just didn't feel like Christmas! We did get to drive thru Texas Tech and see the lights. We even got to get out and take some pictures while Noah slept. This is a special tradition we do each year because it was our first date! We celebrated Christmas with my parents on Sunday. They came to Lubbock and we ate Chicken Express and went out to Tahoka to see Santa's Land and on to Ransom Canyon to see the Christmas Lights. We go to Ransom Canyon every year! It's a beautiful site! Noah was having a hard night, so we called it a night after Ransom Canyon. On Christmas Eve we went to Michael's parents to celebrate Christmas with them. We had snacks and opened presents. We went back Christmas day and ate the yummy traditional meal! What a wonderful time we have had! It's such a blessing watching Noah grow and have all his 1st! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
We went to Michael's parents Thanksgiving day. We had a wonderful meal and Noah visited and slept in his pack and play. We went out to NM on Saturday for Thanksgiving meal #2. We spent the night and Noah got to entertain Grammy and Grampy. The beautiful country view with a little snow left was too good to pass up, so we took some quick family pictures. See! Is'nt that a beautiful background! Love that we got a picture. Now we need to talk Michael's parents into taking a few too! Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!!! Our little man is 2.5 months old. The time is flying by. Noah is famous on my phone and computer with all the pictures we take of him. I have started a project 365 of Noah. I will take a picture of him each day and share it on instagram. I believe we are on day 48 of 365. It is amazing the changes you can see already. I wish I had thought to start it from day 1. We took some 2 month picture a few weeks ago. They turned out so good! We are still using cloth diapers. We don't have a lot so we use disposable in between washes and when we are away from the house. I really do like using cloth. It is sometimes hard fitting clothes over his fluffy butt. I have found 2 brands of diapers that fit more snug for under clothes but they are both snap closure. We have found that for Noah, hook and loop works better on his tiny legs. So, in short... our cloth adventure continues! Most of the cloth diapers we use are Rump-a-rooz pocket diapers. I have also been using prefolds with covers. I didn't think I would like prefolds, but they really aren't as hard as I thought. Sometimes I just lay the prefold in the cover and sometimes I even fold it old school. They have snappi's now, so I don't have to try pinning the diaper on him. Makes it so much easier! Lets see. Noah now weighs 10 lbs 14 oz. His legs are starting to get a little chunky. His hair on top is growing back and he is now losing a little on the side.
We love being parents! Watching him grow and learn is such a blessing. He is cooing and talking a lot and his smiles will melt your heart. We are anxiously awaiting his first laugh. We try to make it out to the corn maize with the Mohons every year. We made it out this year for Noah's 1st corn Maize! Noah is growing so fast! He weighs 9 lbs and is 21.5" long. After his shower this morning, I snapped a few quick pictures of him wrapped in his towel. He loves being on his changing table. He will lay up there forever and just coo and talk to us! I love his squeals and coos!! He's lost almost all his hair on top and a new growth has started coming in. Mommy and Daddy are taking pictures and videos of him being cute ALL. The. Time. !!!
